Mark is a great photographer. There's no doubt about that. We've worked with him on a couple of jobs (they're in our portfolio!) and he always gets us the shots we need.
When Mark asked us to look at creating a new brand for him, as well as a portfolio website, we knew we could do something really special for him.
We wanted to create an identity that reflected what he did, without going for 'crop marks' or shutters. We ended up settling on an identity that used a false 'depth of field' by blurring the closest and furthest elements of the logotype. It was a great solution to making him stand out from the crowd.
In our mind his website had two tasks. Firstly to allow his images to breathe, and secondly to be really easy to get around, but keeping 'functional' elements in the background. I think we've ended up with something that does both, very well!
